Lash extension BEFORE care
If you have fair lashes it is recommend to have them tinted before your eyelash extension appointment. Arrive with no eye makeup or mascara and do not perm or curl eyelashes before your treatment. If you wear contact lenses please remember to bring your case as contact lenses will need to be removed.
Lash extension AFTER care
To ensure your Nouveau lashes are long lasting and stay beautiful proper care and maintenance are required.
- For the first two hrs after treatment avoid water from contacting your lashes
- For the next 48hrs avoid steam, swimming, or washing your lashes
- Do not use waterproof mascara or remover as this will affect the bonding of the lashes only use water based mascara on the tips of lashes
- Do not perm lashes or a lash curler as it will break both the nouveau lashes and natural lashes
- Do not rub eyes when washing face, blot the eyes by applying gentle pressure and allow the lashes to dry naturally
- Don't pick or pull lashes as you will damage the natural follicle of your natural lashes
FAQ
How long do they last?
Approximately 2-4 weeks if you respect your new lashes and take care of them with regular in fills. A real lash's life cycle is around 25-28 days, and as yours grows and fall out, so will the synthetic ones that are attached.
How is the eyelash extensions applied?
A single natural hair is isolated and a synthetic lash is glued to the top of your own natural eyelash 1mm from the eyelid so neither the glue or the lash has contact with the skin.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure will take approximately 2hrs for a full set and 1hr for an infill. You lie down with your eyes closed there is no discomfort as this is a non- invasive procedure. Often enough clients fall asleep.
I had eyelash extensions applied a few days ago and a few lashes have fallen out why?
The lash has a growth cycle and unfortunately it is hard to determine which lash is ready to fall out naturally so it is unpredictable when applying the synthetic lashes. Each day we can loose 3-5 natural lashes, but often they fall out unnoticed but when eyelash extensions are applied we are more aware of when they shed as we know the extensions are there plus they are longer, darker and thicker.
What are in fills, why do I need them and how often do I need them?
In fills are when the natural eyelash has fallen out due to the eyelash cycle and there has been an extension lash applied to it. You will require in fills every 2-3 weeks if you would like to achieve a consistently full fresh set of lashes.
Do the synthetic eyelashes come in different lengths and thicknesses?
Lengths available are from 5mm-25mm, in black and coloured lashes. Y lashes are also very popular which creates double the amount of lashes giving the look of thickness and volume.
Please note that if you have an eye infection or recently undergone an eye operation or cosmetic eye surgery it is advised that you wait until the eye area is completely healed.
Also if you have had your eyelashes permed you cannot have lash extensions applied until 3 months after the perming procedure.
